Breast Pathology: In breast cancer diagnosis, IHC is essential for identifying hormone receptor status, such as estrogen and progesterone receptors, and HER2/neu expression. These markers not only help in classifying breast cancer subtypes but also guide treatment decisions, such as the use of hormone therapies or HER2-targeted treatments. IHC is also used to detect prognostic markers, providing insights into disease progression.
