background

Aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) deficiency is a rare genetic disorder characterized by deficient synthesis of dopamine and serotonin. It presents in early infancy, and causes severe developmental disability and lifelong motor, behavioral, and autonomic symptoms including oculogyric crises (OGC), sleep disorder, and mood disturbance.

Data

Activity assay with Mouse DDC Protein
Measured by its ability to convert the substrate 3, 4-dihydroxy L-phenylalanine (L-Dopa) to 3, 4-dihydroxyphenylethylamine (dopamine). The dopamine product is measured by its absorbance at 340 nm after derivatization with trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid. The specific activity is >1500 pmol/min/µg, as measured under the described°Conditions.
HPLC of Mouse DDC Protein
The purity of Mouse DDC is greater than 95% as determined by SEC-HPLC.
SDS-PAGE gel of Mouse DDC Protein
Mouse DDC on Tris-Bis PAGE under reduced condition. The purity is greater than 95%.
