background

The X-linked ectodermal dysplasia receptor (XEDAR; also known as EDA2R or TNFRSF27) is a member of the TNFR superfamily that is highly expressed in ectodermal derivatives during embryonic development and binds to ectodysplasin-A2 (EDA-A2), a member of the TNF family that is encoded by the anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (EDA) gene.

molecular weight

The protein has a predicted MW of 42.08 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 55-65 kDa based on Tris-Bis PAGE result.

available size

100 µg, 500 µg

endotoxin

Less than 1EU per μg by the LAL method.

Protein names
Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 27 (X-linked ectodysplasin-A2 receptor) (EDA-A2 receptor)
Gene names
EDA2R,EDA2R TNFRSF27 XEDAR UNQ2448/PRO5727/PRO34080
Mass
9606Da
Function
Receptor for EDA isoform A2, but not for EDA isoform A1. Mediates the activation of the NF-kappa-B and JNK pathways. Activation seems to be mediated by binding to TRAF3 and TRAF6.
Catalytic activity
#N/A
Subellular location
Membrane; Single-pass type III membrane protein.
Structure
Associates with TRAF1, TRAF3 and TRAF6.
